📈 Billboard Hot 100:

Holy Moly! It seems like Netflix’s bold move of launching a special sing-along event has paid off!! 🥳 Not only has ‘Golden’ landed back on to NO.1 spot, but “KPop Demon Hunters” has made history with not one but four songs on the Top 10!! 🤯 The historic moment has given the smash hit animation several wins:

  • First soundtrack ever with 4 songs entering Hot 100’s Top 10 simultaneously
  • First soundtrack with multiple Top 10 songs based on animated movie
  • Fifth soundtrack with 4 or more songs in the Top 10

Other songs on the Top 10 are Your Idol at No. 4, ‘Soda Pop’ at No. 5 and How It’s Done at No. 10.

Other KDH soundtracks in the Hot 100:

  • No. 20: What It Sounds Like’ – HUNTR/X (⬆️ From No. 24)
  • No. 23: ‘Free– Rumi & Jinu (EJAE & Andrew Choi) (⬆️ From No. 25)
  • No. 25: ‘Takedown’ – HUNTR/X (⬆️ From No.26)
  • No. 53: Takedown – Jeongyeon, Jihyo, Chaeyoung of Twice (⬆️ From No. 60)

Now, some K-pop acts seems to be doing alright this week.

  • No. 42: APT.– Rosé & Bruno Mars (⬆️ From No. 41)
  • No. 57: Strategy’ – TWICE (⬆️ From No. 62)
  • No. 72: Gabriela’ – Katseye (⬆️ From No. 76)
  • No. 74: ‘Jump’ – Blackpink (➡️ On No.74)

🎧 Billboard 200:

I guess America still loves Morgan Wallen since “KPop Demon Hunters” is still stuck at No. 2. 🥲 Meanwhile, it’s downhill for other K-pop acts as Katseye slipped to No. 53 (⬇️ From No.50), TWICE fell hard to No. 79 (⬇️ From No.61) and TOMORROW X TOGETHER is almost exiting the chart by landing at No.178 (⬇️ From No.125)!

🌍 Billboard Global 200:

Things are fire 🔥 for “KPop Demon Hunters” on the Hot 100 charts but it’s even hotter on the Billboard Global 200 charts- The chart is half dominated by the globally sensational Netflix movie.

It’s no brainer that the No.1 song is ‘Golden’ for 9 consecutive weeks. Other KDH soundtracks include:

  • No. 3: ‘Soda Pop’ – Saja Boys (➡️ On No. 3)
  • No. 4: ‘Your Idol’ – Saja Boys (➡️ On No.4)
  • No. 5: How It’s Done – HUNTR/X (➡️ On No.5)
  • No. 10: What It Sounds Like’ – HUNTR/X (⬆️ From No. 11)
  • No. 11: ‘Free– Rumi & Jinu (EJAE & Andrew Choi) (⬆️ From No. 13)
  • No. 12: ‘Takedown’ – HUNTR/X (⬆️ From No.14)
  • No. 33: Takedown – Jeongyeon, Jihyo, Chaeyoung of Twice (⬆️ From No. 36)

Things are looking glum for K-pop acts as most experienced either an impasse or drop, with the exception of BTS members. Sadly J-hope was the only BTS member that experienced a drop. ☹️ Did BTS do something this week?! I’m secretly praying 🙏🏻 that more songs exit the chart and are replaced by some news songs! 🤫

👩🏻🍵 Final Thoughts

This week was memorable that “KPop Demon Hunters” smashed another Billboard chart record. What history will it be making next week? 😯

Also is it just me or are you getting tired of the same old Kpop songs? Do you think it’s just the seasonal break for K-pop music or is the K-pop music scene unable to churn out new international hits?! 🤔
