The Black Label’s ALLDAY PROJECT ‘Famous’ MV Review

My honest review of The Black Label’s new group ALLDAY PROJECT’s debut music video, ‘Famous’.

So guys… yes, I’m late to the game 🥲.

ALLDAY PROEJCT, the highly buzzed-about mixed-gender group, officially debuted on June 23, 2025.

A week before the debut, The Black Label dropped their first single and MV, Famous, via their official YouTube channel.

The hype? Real. The buzz? Loud. Why? Well, one: a chaebol heiress debuted as an idol. Two: it’s the first mixed-gender idol group to debut in Korea since 2017. But let’s put the headlines aside and get into the actual music and visuals. 💃🏻

My MV Take 🎬

The Good 😀

  • The concept is slick and futuristic—straight out of a sci-fi movie. You can see the budget. It screams “Black Label money.” 💸
  • Style-wise, the group gives early Big Bang meets 1TYM energy (Teddy, we see you 👀). It’s very 90s/millennial Korean hip-hop nostalgia.
  • Fast-paced editing, graphic-heavy visuals—this is one of the highest quality MVs I’ve seen in a while.
  • The track itself? Super refreshing. In a world where K-pop is starting to blend into one giant synth soup, Famous actually stands out.
  • Fans are loving the line distribution—almost everyone gets equal parts. (Okay equity!)
  • Tarzan (the ex-model) is the one to watch. His unique visuals + decent rap skills = serious post-Taeyang potential.

The Bad 🫤

  • As cool as the MV is now… will it age well? In 10 years, we might look back and cringe. It rides a fine line between cutting-edge and kinda corny.
  • The song is unique, yes—but do I vibe with it? Honestly, not really. It feels a little flat for me. Just not my jam.
  • Annie’s opening rap? I couldn’t understand a single word. It felt like a monk’s chant over a trap beat. I had to look up the lyrics.
  • And here’s the kicker: the MV is so visually strong, it overshadows the song. Strip away the flashy visuals and I’m not sure the track or live performance would hit the same.

My Overall Take

Famous is refreshing, unique, and bold—definitely not your cookie-cutter debut. I’m not obsessed (yet), but I’m intrigued enough to keep watching. 👀

Now I want to hear from you— What did you think of the music video? Should I review their debut stage performance too?
