From long-awaited comebacks to record-breaking wins, here’s your hot celeb + K-content recap for the first week of July — served with a side of sass, as always. 😉🔥
1) BTS Announces Spring 2026 Comeback

On July 1, BTS finally shared the update fans worldwide have been waiting for. During a Weverse livestream, the group confirmed their comeback plans for Spring 2026 — including new music and a world tour.
The 30-minute stream, watched by over 7.3 million fans in real time (per Variety), marked the first time all seven members appeared together since September 2022.
Here’s what the members had to say:
RM: “We are going to make an extraordinary album. We’re coming back next Spring”
V: “Did we mention that we’re going to be working on the album in the states?”
Suga: “Since it’s a group album, it’s going to reflect all members thoughts”
Jungkook: “We’re going back to the basics when working on the album”
Jin (who just started his solo world tour): “We may be going countries to countries to work on the album. ”
J-Hope: “I’ll think I’ll be in tears when we perform as BTS again”.
Although the group did not mention the specific date of their comeback, Variety reports that according to Korean Herald, HYBE is aiming for a March 2026 comeback.
👩🏻🍵 Kayla’s Thoughts:
For once, I don’t have a sassy comment on hand. 🤭 Although I am not a die-hard Army, I do enjoy listening to BTS songs. Sure their solo career was ok- Jungkoook and possibly Jimin’s solos were the best out of the seven. But really, would anyone choose their solo careers over their group careers? After all, they shine the most as a group.
So I guess we may have to wait for a bit. Hopefully the wait is worth it! 😉
2) “Squid Game 3” Breaks Netflix Records with 60.1 M Views in 3 Days

According to Variety, the third and final season of Squid Game hit a new Netflix milestone, racking up 60.1 million views in just three days since its debut on June 27, 2025.
That’s even faster than Season 2, which reached 68 million views — but in four days. Season 3 now ranks as Netflix’s 9th most-watched non-English TV series.
And here’s the kicker: Squid Game 3 claimed the #1 spot in all 93 countries where Netflix is available. Talk about global domination. 🏆
👩🏻🍵 Kayla’s Thoughts:
First of all, congratulations are in order for Netflix. And, another one for Koreans, as it is honestly an amazing and surreal for for a K-content to achieve. But that’s about it for the compliments. 😏
My review for “Squid Game” will be coming up this coming Wednesday and boy will it be brutal… because I have so much to unload. Let’s just say that Netflix won’t be happy with my review. 🫣 Coming soon…
3) Blackpink Kicks Off DEADLINE World Tour & Debuts “Jump” to Mixed Reaction
Jennie, Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo finally made a comeback as Blackpink, as they kicked off their much anticipated DEADLINE world tour on July 5, 2025 at Goyang Stadium in Korea-marking their first full-group concert in two years.
Over the course of a 2-hour set, the group performed 17 core songs (including encore), from classics like Ddu-du Ddu-du to Kill This Love and How You Like That. With solo sets included- Lisa and Jisoo singing 2 songs each and Jennie and Rosé singing 3 songs each, the concert featured 27 total performances. 🤯
There have been reports that many celebrities attended the concert. Some notable sightings included J-Hope, Jung Ho-Yeon (of “Squid Game”), Lee Min-ho and YG Entertainment groups. (I might do a post on celebrity sightings this week! 😉)
While fans and stars were thrilled to see BLACKPINK back on stage, not everything went smoothly. Some ticket holders complained about obstructed seats. One fan shared online that they were misled when buying the ticket, only to realize their view was blocked by a massive screen once they were in the concert.
The group also debuted a new song, Jump, which sparked… mixed reactions. The EDM track was widely criticized online, with fans calling it “uncharacteristically bad.” One viral comment joked: “Did YG give them a terrible song on purpose because they didn’t renew their contract?”
But despite the noise, it seems like the world tour started off to a success and many fans worldwide are still looking forward to meet Blackpink in person.
👩🏻🍵 Kayla’s Thoughts:
Although I did not have the chance to attend the concert (nor did I have the energy to compete with millions for a seat at the concert), I’m sure it must have been so fun. The concert must have felt like a party of its own. 😝
That being said, I’m kinda disappointed about the new song, from what I heard from clips in the internet. What were they thinking releasing that horrible track! 🧐 I mean, they better have a good music video to compensate for the shockingly bad song. 😬
