Stars hit the press line for the BOLD Collection reveal — some understood the assignment, others missed the memo.
On September 3, 2025, Gentle Monster unveiled its HAUS NOWHERE Seoul pop-up store under the theme “Future Returned” to launch its 2025 BOLD Collection. Naturally, stars from Hollywood to K-pop rolled up to the press line. And you know me—I’ve got thoughts. Let’s break down the looks:
The Good 😀
FKA Twigs
Embed from Getty ImagesLet’s just say FKA Twigs completely understood the assignment. 😌 When I saw her look, I felt like she got what Gentle Monster is all about: futuristic, avant-garde, experimental, artistic, surreal.
From the neck up, her style is very polished and structured—she wore a looped avant-garde bun and Gentle Monster’s Furi02 eyewear. But neck down, it was all about being experimental and surreal with her TS strap dress by Laura Gert and high platform boots.
The combo of polished vs. experimental worked perfectly, giving me an artistic and futuristic vibe. And honestly? I LOVE it. 😍
Tilda Swinton
Embed from Getty ImagesWell… Tilda Swinton basically finished the game. She’s always been the embodiment of androgynous, avant-garde fashion, which is probably why Gentle Monster tapped her as the new face of their BOLD 2 collection campaign.
She arrived in a stunning blue long-sleeved gown. At first glance, the dress looks simple—just that the blue color flatters her complexion. But look closer, and you notice the intricate beadwork and geometric details woven into the design. That kind of artistry paired with Gentle Monster’s DNA is exactly why Tilda is the perfect fit. 😎
The Okay 😐
Hunter Schafer

On the plus side, her look featured a white structural Jil Sander FW12 dress, paired with orange heels, orange lipstick, and Gentle Monster eyewear. At first glance, it’s clean, structured, and pops just enough to feel cute.
But when you take a longer look, it starts to feel… a little boring. Like it’s missing that extra spark of experimental, avant-garde energy that really screams Gentle Monster. f she had just pushed it 10% more, she would’ve landed in The Good. But as it stands, she’s stuck in Okay. 🫤
The Bad 🫣
So this is where I’m just like… DISAPPOINTED 😒 Both of these idols are insanely beautiful, but their looks? Safe, underwhelming, and just not delivering what Gentle Monster is known for.
Felix of Stray Kids

He showed up in a white silky suit set—long tailored jacket with flared pants— with his pink hair half-tied and a black belt slung across his shoulder.
The look is polished, clean-cut, even a little ethereal. But avant-garde? Futuristic? Experimental? Nowhere to be found. At least Hunter Schafer played into “structured.” 🤷🏻♀️ Felix just looked like a very handsome gentleman at a nice event.
And the biggest miss? As Gentle Monster’s global ambassador, he didn’t even wear eyewear for the press photos, although he later does in another ensemble. But still!!
Sir… it’s literally your job to promote the shit out of the eyewear! Better luck next time! 🙂↔️
Karina of AESPA
Embed from Getty ImagesIf you are into K-pop, then you are fully aware that Karina from Aespa is considered to be one of the gorgeous idol out there. So it’s easy to assume that she looks beautiful because… she is. 😏But her outfit? That’s something else. 😒
Karina appeared in a black long sleeved dress, open toed black heels, a partly pulled back hair and Gentle Monster glasses. While the glasses were on brand, the rest just screamed “boring”. 🥱 Literally, the only interesting part of her outfit was the geometrical cut around the waist.
It felt like she was playing it safe to protect her idol image, which makes sense—but when the event is all about bold, avant-garde style, this just didn’t cut it. 🫤
👩🏻🍵 Final Thoughts:
FKA Twigs and Tilda nailed Gentle Monster’s DNA. Hunter tried, but didn’t push far enough. Felix and Karina looked great—but sadly gave us Idol-Safe Zone, not Gentle Monster Future.
