1) K-Pop Demon Hunters Sing-Along Event Confirmed 🎤
After weeks of speculation, Netflix finally dropped the big announcement on August 16. According to their official press release, Netflix finally confirmed a sing-along screening event! The catch? It’s limited to select theaters in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand on August 23–24. 😤 No word yet on whether Korea (or any other country) will join the fun — which feels especially ironic considering the movie is rooted in Korean culture. Meanwhile, I’ll be keeping my eyes and neck out for that news! 👀

I’m sorry, but how is it not happening in Korea?! A K-pop movie with zero sing-along in the country of K-pop? That’s not just a missed opportunity, that’s a travesty. Also, why only English-speaking countries? 😒 Please don’t say that Netflix is discriminating non-English speaking countries? 😱 Netflix better find a reason to change their mind and expand the event worldwide — pronto!
2) Kardashians’ Surprise Visit to Seoul 🇰🇷
It seems like the two-fifth of the Kardashian sisters have made a surprise visit to Seoul. 😂 Although it is unclear when the sisters came into Korea, Kim and Khloe Kardashian have been spotted in Seoul. Reportedly by Allure Korea, the sisters visited Boon the Shop (a high-fashion specialty store), Kudo dermatology clinic, Mielle in Cheongdam (dermatology) clinic and Hoan (dermatology) clinic. Three clinics, really?!
But the sisters really made waves when she posted Stories of Korean BBQ, convenience store snacks, and even a Korean flag on Independence Day. Fans loved it and even playfully joked that she’s actually Korean and her name “Kim” is actually the Korean surname ‘Kim’. 🤭

So why did Kim and Khloe visit Korea is the real big question. 🤔
Was Kim inspired by North West’s trips to Korea with Ye? (or did Ye inspire Kim?! 😂) Or maybe she’s getting inspo for her beauty brand Skkn? (or she just wanted to get some works done on her face? 👀) Is she possibly considering to launch Skims in Korea, following the footstep of many hot brands like Vuori and Alo?! 😮 (That would be so hot!) Whatever the reason, I’m keeping my eyes peeled. 👀
3) Charlie Puth and Charli XCX Headlines OUF 2025
Two Charli(e)”s in the house – that is Seoul! 🤭
Charlie Puth and Charli XCX landed in Seoul to headline the One Universe Festival 2025. Charli XCX headlined the event on August 15 and Charlie Puth headlined the event on August 16.
Charli XCX marked her return to Korea after eight years, performing an hour-long set before closing out her Brat world tour for now. Charlie Puth — basically an honorary Seoulite at this point — delivered a 90-minute show, his eighth visit to Korea overall. Fans can’t seem to get enough of his sweet voice (and honestly, same).
It seems like Charli XCX also enjoyed a glimpse of Seoul before OUF 2025. She was spotted in a sundae and rice soup restaurant and at Hills & Europa bar (recommended by Dua Lipa? 😏). On the other hand, it seems like Charlie Puth dipped out right away, but no worries. He’ll probably be back before long. 😉

Korean fans love Charlie Puth, and the blog reviews prove it. There’s def more blog posts praising his performance. He’s at least safe from the shade he’s been recently been getting from celebrities such as Bella Thorne, when in Korea. 😬
Meanwhile, Charli XCX might not have the same base, but Seoul seemed happy to host her. Extra points for actually exploring the city — that always earns brownie points with locals.
