A possible return for T.O.P, an international reboot for Attorney Woo, and a custody update for Post Malone — Hot Tea & Cold Takes for the Week of July 28!
1) T.O.P Rumored Comeback

Rumors are swirling about a possible comeback from the once-disgraced and now bouncing back rapper T.O.P. He’s also the former Big Bang member who recently starred in two seaons of Netflix’s “Squid Game”. He is reportedly planning to release an album later this year.
According to an exclusive The Korea Herald story, T.O.P is potentially in talks with Korea’s major entertainment company CJ E&M for an exclusive contract. Interestingly, the label has denied any current discussions. FYI, he is currently unsigned to any agency and CJ E&M isn’t the only company he’s in talks with.
Just last month, in an interview promoting Squid Game Season 3, T.O.P revealed plans to return to music in late 2025. This will mark his first full comeback since distancing himself from Big Bang and the K-pop industry.
👩🏻🍵 Kayla’s Thoughts:
Let’s be real: T.O.P isn’t exactly in Korea’s good graces right now. From the drug scandal during military service to quietly cutting ties with Big Bang — he hit every K-pop cardinal sin (drugs, military shame, and fan betrayal). Not many come back from that. 😬
And don’t even get me started on his Squid Game acting. It was either… genius bad on purpose or just bad bad. 🫣
But in a recent interview, he finally admitted he distanced himself from Big Bang because he felt guilty for hurting Big Bang with his actions — and honestly? That hit me. I think there’s something redeeming about artists owning up to their failures. If he gives us a solid album, maybe fans (myself included) will actually be ready to root for him again. 😉
2) Attorney Woo Heads to Hollywood

On July 23, Variety reported that Netflix will be developing an English-language adaptation of the hit K-drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”.
The original series — which followed a brilliant rookie lawyer on the autism spectrum navigating legal cases with empathy and logic — became a surprise global sensation after landing on Netflix. The new adaptation will be produced by Jerry Bruckheimer Television (of CSI, Lucifer, and The Amazing Race fame).
👩🏻🍵 Kayla’s Thoughts:
I once met someone abroad who got so excited to tell me their first K-drama ever was Attorney Woo. I awkwardly said “cool” because… I haven’t seen it. Still, I love that this is the drama that crossed borders.
My hope? The American remake goes the Good Doctor route — that was such a warm, solid adaptation. Shoutout to Daniel Dae Kim for making that happen. Fingers crossed this one hits just as well! 🤞
3) Post Malone Scores a Mini Legal Win

Back on July 3, I shared the messy breakup tea between Post Malone and his ex, Hee-sung Jamie Park. Now? There’s been a minor legal update.
According to TMZ , Jamie dropped her custody case in California — a small win for Post Malone, since losing that case would’ve meant costly child support payments. She had sought joint legal custody with visitation rights for the singer, but with primary physical custody of their daughter. Additionally, TMZ states that according to a source, the baby momma just moved to California earlier this year, after her relationship with Post Malone had gone kaput. 🤔
But that doesn’t mean the ordeal is done because they’re still going to fight it out in Utah. Let’s keep an eye out for this legal suit. 👀
👩🏻🍵 Kayla’s Thoughts
Do I care who gets custody? Not really. All I know is one minute Post Malone is thanking his baby momma and the next minute, he’s stepping out with another Korean girl. 😳
Although I always think that moms take better care of their children (most of the time…), the media makes them both sound questionable. One’s allegedly a hard partier, the other’s painted as a clout-chaser. Regardless, I hope they can co-parent peacefully. I’ll keep sipping on this legal saga if it keeps brewing. ☕️
