Kpop Demon Hunters Brings the Sequel, K-pop Girl Power at Grammys 2026 Nominations , and V’s the new global face of TIRTIR— Hot Takes & Cold Tea for the week of November 10th!
1) Kpop Demon Hunters Eyes 2029 Return

Girls and boys, scream with joy! It looks like K-Pop Demon Hunters will be sticking around for a while. 😆
According to Variety (via Bloomberg), Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation have once again joined forces to produce the sequel to what might be the biggest animated musical since Disney’s “Frozen” — in my opinion! The sequel is currently slated for 2029.
That means we’ve got roughly four years of waiting ahead — animation takes forever, so grab your lightsticks and patience.
👩🏻🍵 Kayla’s Thoughts
Mixed feelings here. 🤔
On one hand, yay! 🙌🏻 The original was such a phenomenon that a sequel felt inevitable, and I’m dying to hear what kind of soundtrack they dream up next.
But … four years? That’s an eternity in pop-culture time. 🫠 How will Netflix keep momentum alive until then? And can they really recreate the same magic and music quality after rumors of animator turnover and a hostile work environment? If key staffers left, what happens to the soul of the project? 😭
Still — I’m rooting for it. May the sequel slay again (and maybe hire happier animators).
2) Kpop Girls Flex Girl Power for Grammy Nominations

2025 seems the be the era for the K-pop girlies as they sweeped the nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Let’s start off with our forever fav girl Rosé. With three nominations, Rosé just became the first ever K-pop act to be nominated in major categories including ‘Song of the Year‘ and ‘Record of the Year’. 😭
Let’s move on to the hit animation movie of the year, “Kpop Demon Hunters”! The movie stands alongside with Rosé as it was nominated for five (gasp!) categories including ‘Song of the Year’ for its smash hit ‘Golden’, which was written and performed by Ejae (the girl with the broken K-pop dream that rose from the ashes…😎) .
And finally, Katseye — the survival show-turned-global girl group that everyone said couldn’t pull it off — scored their first-ever Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. After conquering TikTok, Billboard, and a world tour announcement, this is the ultimate cherry on top.
And surprise surprise! The three acts all meet to battle it out on the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category. Who’s going to take the title? Or will they all lose and someone else end up taking the title?!
Can’t wait for the anticipation but we must all wait until February! 😉
👩🏻🍵 Kayla’s Thoughts
The Grammys are finally catching up. 😊
It’s already wild enough seeing K-pop girlies flexing their talents and power in the mainstream music scene. But nominated for the Grammys?! And taking up space in categories that historically excluded anything non-Western?! OMG so surreal! 🤩
Whether they win or not, the message is clear: the K-girl era isn’t coming — it’s already here and they’re owning it! 😎
3) V is the New Face of TirTir
TIRTIR made another splash in the beauty world by announcing its first-ever global ambassador — none other than V of BTS, on November 3rd. 😭
The rollout was textbook K-beauty tease: a “mysterious” photo revealing only his lips and chin with the iconic red cushion, then a back-shot clip that racked up over 120 million views. By the time the full ad dropped on November 8th, it had already passed 6.5 million likes — basically every single one of TIRTIR’s 6.7 million followers lost it.
Unlike brands recently hopping on the “male idol beauty” trend, TIRTIR has a track record: Park Seo-jun, Hyun Bin, and EXO’s Baekhyun have all fronted the brand.
👩🏻🍵 Kayla’s Thoughts
If you’ve followed my blog, you know I’m not a fan of the K-beauty-meets-male-idol formula. Just read my rant on “Hera Bets Big on Felix – But Will It Pay Off?” 🙄
But let’s be real. I can’t deny that V is a hottie. Watching that clip of him smearing cushion on his face? Yeah, mission accomplished, TIRTIR. 😎
Do I love the strategy? No.
Do I believe it’ll work? Absolutely. (Well maybe I’m just biased like that 😏)
🖋 Wrap-Up
Sequels, nominations, and brand deals — Korea’s cultural machine keeps spinning, proving that whether it’s box office, awards circuits, or beauty counters, the K-wave still runs the world. 🌏
