Pop In Weekly: Lisa’s Pink Moment, K-pop at Coachella’, and Le Sserafim Outsings Aespa

Lisa stuns in pink at the Emmys, Big Bang makes history with Coachella comeback, and Le Sserafim outshines Aespa on U.S. TV — Hot Takes & Cold Tea for the week of Sept 22

Lisa may not have taken home any trophies at this year’s Emmy Awards, but she definitely won the red carpet. On September 15, she floated onto the carpet in a Lever Couture creation paired with pink stilettos — and the fashion girlies are still gagging.

The dress was a showstopper for several reasons. 👀 First, the shade — the dreamiest bubblegum pink that looks like it was made for Lisa. Second, the construction: while it gave the illusion of spun cotton candy, the gown was actually crafted from cascading ribbons. Add in the asymmetrical front hem and a ribbon-train that trailed behind her like a fantasy, and you’ve got a look that’s both playful and regal.

For accessories, Lisa doubled down on luxury with a Bulgari Serpenti necklace. The detail wasn’t just glam — it was layered. She’s been a Bulgari global ambassador since 2020, and the serpent motif is also a cheeky nod to her Emmy-nominated role as Mook in The White Lotus season 3, where snakes were a recurring theme.

👩🏻🍵 Kayla’s Thoughts

You can tell how obsessed I am just by how long I’ve been talking about this look. For once, it’s an easy A+ from me. Lisa nailed the eye-catching, elegant, ethereal vibe that every award season demands. Whoever styled her? Give them a raise, pronto! 🤭

2) Coachella 2026 Gets K-pop Treatment

Coachella just dropped its 2026 dates (April 10–12 and April 17–19), and it looks like Indio is about to get a heavy dose of K-pop. Three acts are confirmed — and they’re serving history, nostalgia, and a glow-up moment all at once.

Katseye
Kicking off on both Fridays (April 10 & 17) is Katseye, the global girl group with deep K-pop DNA. It’ll be their very first Coachella stage — a huge milestone considering their 2025 breakthrough year. If you thought they were just warming up, 2026 is clearly the year they go full throttle.

💎 Taemin
On Saturdays (April 11 & 18), SHINee’s very own Taemin will make history as the first male K-pop soloist to perform at Coachella. (Jennie paved the way as the first female K-pop solo act back in 2024.) Taemin’s artistry and stage presence are legendary — and this performance feels long overdue.

🔥 Big Bang
And closing out both Sundays (April 12 & 19) are none other than Big Bang. G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung will take the stage — three out of five, since the other two members are no longer active (though T.O.P has since reconciled with the group). This moment is extra special: Big Bang was originally slated for Coachella 2020 before COVID-19 shut it all down. If that performance had gone forward, they would’ve been the first K-pop act at Coachella. Five years later, they’re finally claiming their place in history.

👩🏻🍵 Kayla’s Thoughts
Oooh! Three K-pop acts at one Coachella? (Yes, Katseye counts — don’t fight me on this.) This lineup proves that K-pop isn’t just a “niche” anymore; it’s woven into the fabric of global pop culture. I’m hyped to see what they’ll deliver… but also praying for excellence. We cannot afford another Aespa-on-GMA moment. 😬

3) When K-Pop Hits U.S. Stages: Aespa vs. Le Sserafim

K-pop’s U.S. expansion continues to give us moments — some iconic, others… not so much.

Take Aespa’s Good Morning America performance earlier this year. What was meant to be their big U.S. TV moment instead went viral for all the wrong reasons: unbalanced sound mixing, awkward staging, and vocals that came off shaky rather than polished. It sparked a wave of discourse online about whether some K-pop acts are truly “ready” for live Western TV.

Now compare that to Le Sserafim’s America’s Got Talent stage. The group lit up the AGT stage with commanding choreo, confident live vocals, and arena-level charisma that wowed both the judges and the audience. Clips from the performance made the rounds on TikTok and Twitter/X, with fans and casual viewers alike praising their stage presence.

👩🏻🍵 Kayla’s Thoughts
Here’s the gag: one TV stage can make or break your U.S. reputation. Aespa’s GMA set became a cautionary tale of what happens when prep and production don’t align and is just pure cringe. 😬 Le Sserafim, on the other hand, proved that when you bring energy, rehearsal, and confidence, you can win over even skeptical American audiences. 🤩 Consider this a reminder: in K-pop, you only get one shot to make a first impression — so make it count.
