Squid Game Brings the Hype with Season 3 Trailer

The wait is over for the final season of the global hit K-drama “Squid Game”.

Less than six months after airing season 2 of “Squid Game”, Netflix once again stepped up to make a major reveal – trailer of the final season of “Squid Game”.

Apparently, Netflix held its annual fan event on May 31st, 2025 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. (I did not know!)

Many stars of the show attended Tudum – Lee Jung-jae Lee, Byung-hyun Lee, Sung-hoon Park, Seung-hyun Choi (more famously known as T.O.P, former member of Big Bang) and Ae-shim Kang (not pictured) as shown below:

Courtsey of Netflix

I’m not exactly sure why Seung-hyun Choi (aka T.O.P) and Ae-shin Kang attended the show. After all, they are not the main characters of season 3. Nor did they have a pivotal role in season 2. I may be biased because I hated T.O.P’s performance as rapper Thanos because I felt that he was too cringeworthy . Was it his intention to display bad acting to show the character is a cringe or that he’s just a terrible actor? The only reason I can come up with about Seung-hyun Choi is perhaps Netflix expects to generate interest with his large international fanbase? But oh well, I digress…

But if you ask why Ae-shim Kang has attended the fan event? I really do not know. Maybe she was the only available female cast? I mean after all, Kyu-young Park got in trouble with Netflix after posting a picture that may have potential spoilers right after season 2 aired . But maybe she’s just busy? Who knows.

So I digressed for about two paragraphs, but here is the official trailer of Squid Game Season 3: (Just in case you haven’t checked it out!)

Watching the trailer, I can already see that the show is about to get darker and more violent. Especially when Gi-hun asks “Why did you let me live?” (more like “Why am I the only one alive? Why did you only let me live?” in Korean).

Cut to a bunch of contestants playing cat and mouse to survive the game and win the cash amidst trust and double-crossing each other.

Then we see the front man finally taking off his mask and asking “Do you still have faith in people?” as Seong Gi-hun (contestant 456) enters the room. It seems like Gi-hun does become a finalist but is he the only one that makes it?

By the way, it seems like Squid Game icon Young-hee has had some changes. Young-hee is now in charge of a new game, which looks like a deadly jump rope game (with another icon Chul-soo!)

Anyways, I’m not the type of person who goes deep into all these theories and interpretations about a show. So I guess this is the end.

Tune into Netflix on June 27th, 2025 for “Squid Game” season 3, which is also the final season. See you then!
