If the goal of Netflix’s Wednesday was to make waves, Jenna Ortega might need a few tips from Scarlett Johansson. 🤓
Netflix’s “Wednesday” team — Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, and director Tim Burton — attended a press conference on August 11. Side note: it’s kinda funny that it wasn’t actually held on a Wednesday… get it? “Wednesday”? LOL 😂

And now after watching a short clip of the press conference, I can see why it failed to create a buzz. And this was evident, given that the show is only placing 4th or 5th place in the Top 10 Show – a good but not a superb spot.
Why the Press Conference Fell Flat:
Honestly, the press conference seemed like a very generic press conference – serious, respectful but also boring. 🥱 While true fans might love the behind-the-scenes insights and creative thoughts, the answers were not unique enough to make headlines. Honestly, the answers could be used anywhere else other than in Korea.
On the other hand, Scarlett Johansson knows what her fans want and boy, does she deliver! Her answers are playful, cheeky, and make headlines — she knows how to hype the country and the fans, not just the film.
Quick Fashion Comment:

But it was such a mismatch of different eclectic look that reminded me of Helena Bonham Carter. 😬 The green long sleeved body suit was horrendous looking, tweed-and-tulle tiered skirt was a bit of a drag. I actually think the look would have worked and look cute if she matched the body suit with a shorter skirt. I also hated her bleached brows. Well, at least she got the goth theme right -looking all depressing. 🙄

So what did you think of my thoughts on the ‘Wednesday’ press conference? Do you agree that the “Wednesday” could have tried more to bring in the headlines? Did the fashion just drag the whole press conference? Let me know your thoughts!
